Before the Creation of Torân, this Plane was a void. The Creator, a powerful being from another Plane, came our future home to create Life. He spent a great deal of time learning the process of Creation from more powerful Astral beings. He knew there were limits to his power, but felt that he had been called by a higher power to Create.

It is written that the strains of Creation were too great for the Creator, and the process drained his Essence too greatly. Rather than die and leave His work unfinished, however, he allowed his Essence to split into three distinct parts, each representing certain aspects of the original being.

Alkim da'Koren (lit. "Bringer of Light") was the vessel of the Creator's goodly habits and tendancies. Naljim da'Morin (lit. "Master of the Dark" or "Mastered by the Dark") encomassed the Creator's ambition and greed. Belwik da'Madji (lit. "Keeper of Knowledge") was a balancing force between good and evil.

The Three continued their "father's" task and populated Torân with the flora and fauna that would be necessary for it to thrive. However, the Three rarely saw eye to eye and were often set to arguing amongst each other. The final decision, as suggested by Belwik, was that each of the three would carve pieces of the world in their own choosing, free from the constraints of the others. The resolution soon proved short-sighted, as Naljim carved caverns in the bowels of the world to create his contribution to Torân: Goblins and Ogres.

Meanwhile, on the surface, Alkim created the forefathers of the Mortal Men and halflings, and Belwick created the elves as the first to use his Art - magic.
