Aerin McKay

Character Name:Aerin McKay
Race:Human (may be of elven descent)
Gender : Female
Age: 17
Height: 6'0"
Class / Job: Bard

Special equipment or abilities we should know about :
Equipment: Lyre/Harp- enchanted to stay in tune.
Weapon: Dirk (Long dagger) with a silver hilt, the blade embossed with a mermaid on it. Enchanted to prevent theft, rust, or small fire attacks.
Abilities: Aerin has an unusual talent to hit any pitch or key, whether it be in human range or not. Thus, she can break glass quite easily, and warp metal, if she keeps at it for a long time. She can harmonize with herself due to a magical accident at the academy, so she now can sing duets with herself.
She can also manipulate other people's emotions with her song.
Why we should let that stuff in: Because there's no absolute full control of people from her song, and the dagger isn't going to prevent a full scale attack.
Description:
Attire: Most of the time, Aerin wears a loose shirt with full sleeves gathered at the wrist, layered with a black bodice over it, brown breeches, and dark brown boots. Belted over all of this, is her tartan with her clan’s (family) colors and pattern on it.

Personality: Aerin is rather shy because of her height, but one would almost never guess that. To overcome her shyness and bring tidbits of information back to her home, she decided to become a bard, so as to travel the world. She hides underneath a somewhat rough and sarcastic facade, and tends to push other people away. She’s moody at times, since she has a rather short temper. She is quiet usually, except when performing or gathering information. Aerin is a very determined and perseverant individual, as well as obstinate. Not much can make her back down, unless it becomes too hard for her to handle it alone.

Flaws: Aerin bottles her emotions up and unleashes a seething fury, and has a tendency to blurt out things she doesn’t really mean when angered. This is what also motivates her to keep away from others, so she doesn’t upset someone.
She also refuses to kill anyone, unless they attack her, and even then, she is quite hesitant. Aerin speaks in the dialect of her homeland, so it might be a little difficult for others to understand her speech. She doesn’t like to be too close to a fire, unless it’s in a hearth.

Appearance: Aerin is tall and lanky, with slightly large feet and hands. Not exactly the epitome of “graceful,” or “devastatingly beautiful.” She isn’t unattractive, but tends to intimidate anyone who would dare approach her. Not that she’d really care, anyway. Her skin is a little pale, with a tendency to freckle. A cascade of extremely wavy auburn hair is held back by a headband, and tied to the side. Dark green eyes rimmed with pale long eyelashes regard the world fiercely. Aerin is indifferent as to how she looks in front of other people, most of the time. She carries a lyre infused with a little magic, to keep it in tune and to prevent it from damage.

History: Aerin was born in the northeast, with a large family. Her father was the chieftain of her family’s clan. She lived with them contentedly in the wilderness, away from most people. It was rumored that one of the McKay ancestors had taken an elf for a wife, way long ago. No one really believed this, until the first time Aerin sang, when she was about 6. Apparently, she had inherited a little Siren talent, though no one was lured to their death by the unwitting 6 year old. However, those who had heard her were mesmerized, and it took them a little while to snap out of their trances. Combined with her voracious appetite for literature, the clan had aspirations to have a bard in the family, even if the bard happened to be female. She could teach her skills to her sons. After a few years, Aerin was sent to an academy that specialized in music, particularly training for minstrels and bards. Once she had completed her training, Aerin decided to wander throughout the land, particularly to avoid some of her more ambitious male relatives. Marriage tended to occur early in her family, and she had no wish to be tied down so early.

Acepted without RP. If you can put that much into the development and present it that well, I have no doubt you can handle the RP part.

Welcome to Torân!
